In these 2 images I used color to give the feeling of the 2 words. The joy side of the image is full of color and the sorrow side is down in black and white. In the second image you can see the in the middle of the image it overlaps. Because I believe joy and sorrow go hand and hand. I enhanced the color of the second image with the curve tool and I used the liquefy tool all over the first image and on the dots on the sorrow sad in the second image. Then I used the tool on the first image to give it a look of steel.

3.
the expression or display of glad feeling; festive.

3.

major assignment 2

For this assignment I want to use images of women dresses in their Sunday's Best. In the background I will use flowers and I will destort the image using liquify so all you can see is a mixture of colors. All of the women in my picture will have on very large hats that almost cover their faces. And I want to use hats as the border.
I wanted to do a movie poster for the movie drumline. These images have been enhanced by using gimp tools. I 've been trying for the last 3 weeks to download a trial version of cs4 with no success. Then the first time I try to download gimp it works. But gimp is very different from cs4, they have alot of the same tools, but all seem to work a lot different. These images feature my nephew and his 2 friends who came home this past weekend sporting their new drumline jackets. They all are first year student at Kentucky State University. The actual movie drumline inspired my nephew to get his grades up in high school so he would be able to get in college after he graduated. So that's why I love this movie.
In these 3 images I used drumstick images I found online. The sticks look very cool and show movement. I simply copied and pasted the sticks and adjusted the size. In the image on top I adjusted the glow on 1 set of sticks. This was the first time I was able to add text to pictures, the gimp tools don't allow you to adjust must as for text. I was able to adjust the colors on the images using the curve tool. I also used a sketch tool on the top image.

My fortune cookie said "You will be recognized and honored as a community leader."
So in this image I used a photo of my mom and dad with a picture of the trophy they received from the metro council for the leadership they have shown in a effort to get library for the Newburg community. As you can see I used the overlay tool on all the images in the images in the foreground except the book stacks at the bottom of the image. The background in this image is of an open spot of land where the new library will be built. I took the color out of most of the images except the trophy and book at the bottom. I'm very proud of both of my parents ,but since my mom is president and my father is the vice-president of their neighborhood committee, I placed my moms picture larger and more upfront for she is the face of her committee.then in the second image is the same as the first but i used the emboss tool which gives it a great leather stamp look. And the background really shows thru, I really love to see the texture of the trees .

In these 3 images I used a photo of my self with my eyes shut. The image at the bottom is the fisrt picture of the group for this assignment. The assignment was to tell a story and my story was of a daydreamer who kisses a frog and after she kisses the frog her world changes.

I used over 50 layers to come up with these images. In the first image the first layer was my face. The I used an image of an afro wig that is blonde to surround the image of my face, it looks like clouds in the picture, I copy and pasted that same wig over and over changing it's direction everytime. Then I wanted to add a border and I took an images of pok-a-dot tissue paper cut a strip of it and added to the image as a frame. Since I added it in strips it made it easier to change the colors and saturations of each. I even gave a sketch effect to on of the strips. If you look closely you will even see little stars that have been stamped in.

I really enjoy using the color curve on my images, it was used on all 3 images and gave 3 differents effects. In the last image I also used the plastic wrap feature to enhace the photo.

class 2 pics

In my second class I learned how retouch a portrait. This a picture of my mother who will be 60 years old this year. I spent so much time retouching my moms picture that I lost track of time to change up the picture for my post. In order to retouch this picture I simply took a layer and copied it. Then on the top layer I simply erased the signs of time. Restoring my mother's image to years past. She has always been such a beautiful women that even the hands of time could never dis troy her true beauty, because that comes from within. So wanted to capture the soul of my mother thru an image.
In the first image my is in a more natural color. I selected the image of my mother using the magic wand tool and attempted to feather out the edges to make them softer. In the second image I adjusted the hues and brightness of her image to match the colors more the background. It almost seems as if glowing. This is the picture that I feel capture her soul. The ground of all three images are roses that have been altered using the liquid function. In third image removed the color from my mothers photo and then added a frame to the background by altering the hue and saturation on the edge of the picture.
